Mona Nicolici has started her career in broadcasting and worked for 12 years as a television editor, producer and anchor for one the most important TV news channels in Romania.
Before joining OMV Petrom in 2006, she has been a Communication Advisor at the Ministry of Economy. As the Head of Sustainability Unit of OMV Petrom, one of biggest oil & gas companies in Romania, Mrs. Nicolici has triggered the development of many innovative and ground-breaking CSR programs.
With a strong background in communication and acting as a key opinion leader, Mrs. Nicolici has used all her knowledge and influence to develop the concept and practice of CSR in Romania.
In 2007, under the coordination of Mrs. Nicolici, OMV Petrom launched one of the biggest CSR platforms of community involvement in Romania, Andrei’s Country (Țara lui Andrei). Over the past 10 years, Andrei’s Country platform invested more 49 million EURO in community development, health, education, environment and volunteering.
The following programs are included among the main initiatives developed under Mrs. Nicolici’s vision: Access to Life (Acces la Viață), the extension of the national telemedical network for medical emergencies; Made in Andrei‘s Country (Fabricat Țara lui Andrei), a national competition of social businesses; Ideas from Andrei‘s Country (Idei din Țara lui Andrei), a national competition that supports the development of communities; the network of Resource Centers in OMV Petrom’s assets throughout the country, created to support disadvantaged groups; Vocational Romania (România Meseriașă), a program designed to support the development of vocational and technical education in Romania. The newest initiative launched as a part of Vocational Romania is the Vocational Student League (Liga Elevilor Meseriași), the first network of young leaders from technical and vocational schools.
